This is the best way to explore Croatia, a country of great natural beauty. Our selected fly- drive itineraries offer a genuine opportunity for travellers to visit and enjoy the parts of country not featured in holiday brochures. These itineraries combine more established ‘must see’ resorts on the Adriatic, inland Croatian cities with elegant buildings rich in history and culture, charming villages of rural Zagorje where wildlife seems to outnumber human beings, and the hills crowned with romantic castles surrounded by lush vineyards, panoramic views and endless possibilities for rambling.

Croatia’s road system is comprehensive, but of variable quality once you get beyond the main highways. There are currently five stretches of motorway (autocesta). Elsewhere, the main routes including the Adriatic coast route (the Magistrala) are single carriageways but offer wonderful dramatic views of the Dalmatian coast.

By pre-booking your car before leaving for your holiday you will ensure that a car will be available when you want it and also take advantage of Croatia for Travellers inclusive car hire rates.

What the prices include

Unlimited free mileage, third party liability insurance which conforms to the local law. TP ( Theft Protection ) covering authorised drivers’ responsibility for the cost of replacing a vehicle that is stolen or vandalised through no fault of driver ( excludes personal contents) Third party liability insurance which conforms to the local law Break down service within AMC Rent a Car organisation Local (VAT ) tax 22% . One way drops (drop off charge) within Croatia Budget branches and within these branches working hours for car hire of minimum 2 days *CDW ( Collision Damage Waiver ). This relieves he authorised drivers of the hired car from financial responsibility for loss or damage of the vehicle (less applicable excess) when it is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental contract.

Not included / Optional

All hired vehicles are insured against the damage done to the third party. For any damage to hired vehicle by a third party/ another vehicle, must be reported to police to compile a report of the accident and damage done to the hired vehicle. Please note that Collision Damage Waiver ( CDW) insurance included in the cost of vehicle hire does not cover damage: To tyres, wheel rip, wheel covers, as well as damage of chassis, because these damages can be caused only by driver’s carelessness. to engine caused by lack of oil, or damage done to the oil pump. caused by a driver who was under influence of alcohol or drugs caused by person not authorized to drive hired vehicle.

Optional Excess Deduction Waiver ( RAD) insurance can be taken locally on collection of hired vehicle. Insurance premium for RAD will depend on type of vehicle hired from £ 4.50 Personal Accident Insurance ( PAI ) - usually covered by travel insurance - please check small print of your policy
Child and baby seat: available on request at £ 4 per day (minimum 3 days). Booster seats and roof racks are not available. All cars are fitted with rear seat belts.

Security Deposit – all car rental companies on collection of car require imprint of the named driver’s credit card as security deposit. The amount will vary depending on the car rented starting from around £ 280 upwards (any major credit card in the driver's name is acceptable). This deposit is fully refundable providing there is no damage to the car done not covered by CDW. However, any extra insurance premium requested ( PAI and RAD) at the time of car collection and cost of filling in fuel tank – if car is not returned with full tank, will be deducted from the deposit...

Driver's age and driving licence: Drivers must be over 21 years of age and have held a full British or Irish driving licence for a minimum of 2 years. ( for these drivers cover was required International Driving License is not required) Additional driver free of charge.
Legal - all rentals are subject to a direct contract between each driver and , the car rental company, and any claims in respect of the hiring will be submitted on behalf of the renter to AMC Rent a Car in Croatia. We would strongly recommend that hired car is checked prior to signing rental agreement. The check should include tyres and body work; any deficiencies should be immediately reported.

FLIGHTS - Not included in the prices

With increased competition in air travel, airlines more and more, rely on ‘fluid’ pricing to fill in their seats. So much so, that in many instances it is impossible to predict the cost of flights from one month to another. This situation affects equally scheduled and charter flights. For this reason we have decided not to include flights in our holidays, enabling our customers to take full advantage of any bargain air fares they may purchase and add to our ground arrangements.
